MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 25-30.

General morphology:
Antennae as long as half of length of forewing, apiculus obtuse, long, nudum 16 segments. Forewing elongate-triangular, costa and termen almost straight, hind margin longer than termen; vein M2 decurved at origin. Hindwing termen not evenly rounded, but shallowly incurved between tornus and mid-termen, tornus angular, inner margin about as long as costa; cell abnormally long, 2/3 of wing, apically constricted.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Above unmarked, head and thorax brilliant iridescent green. 

Underside: Underside hindwing black with bluish gloss, centrally wide whitish area covering about half wing and towards base of dorsum turning red.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
Male without secondary sexual characters.  

Species

 
One species, only known from Aru and New Guinea. To date, only thirteen specimens are known.
