MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 17-21.

General morphology:
Antennae club bent in the middle, nudum variable. Palpi erect. Forewing triangular to rounded with termen weakly curved but stronger in female, hind margin longer than termen. Hindwing evenly rounded, inner margin about as long as costa.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing and hindwing black with bases bright iridescent blue. Indistinct hyaline spots in forewing of one species. 

Underside: Underside forewing and hindwing dark brown, more or less mottled by paler spots.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
No secondary sexual characters.  

Species

 
Two lowland New Guinea species, one of which has also been found in the Cape York Peninsula in Australia.
