MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics
Forewing length (mm): 19-24.
General morphology:
Antennae much longer than half of length of forewing, apiculus longer than twice width of club, hooked, nudum 18 segments. Forewing relatively broad, termen weakly curved to straight, hind margin as long as or longer than termen. Hindwing termen evenly curved or slightly incurved above tornus, inner margin about as long as costa.
Wing coloration:
Upper side: Upper side forewing dark brown or black, unmarked, in one species with purple shine, with one or two small discal dots or spots larger and also two tiny apical spots, or with well-developed white hyaline spots including a large spot in cell. Upper side hindwing brown or black, in one species with purple shine, unmarked or outer third of wing dark brown, rest of wing yellow.
Underside: Underside forewing as upper side, but generally a pale area along hind margin. Underside hindwing as upper side or with a broad pale area along hind margin, or pale brown in basal third, dark brown in outer third, white or yellow in between.
Secondary sexual characters:
Male with linear stigma from the outer half of vein 1A+2A to the origin of vein M3, or a large black brush on the upperside of the hindwing near the base.
Species
Eight species, known from Assam, Myanmar, Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo and Philippines.
