MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 14-23.

General morphology:
Antennae longer than half of length of forewing, apiculus obtuse to moderately hooked, nudum 16-17 segments. Forewing elongate-triangular, termen weakly curved straight, hind margin just shorter than termen. Hindwing termen evenly rounded, inner margin about as long as costa; cell half wing length.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing dark brown with well developed white hyaline discal spots, two widely separated linear spots in cell, orange dash over basal half of vein 1A+2A. Upper side hindwing dark brown with centrally a short band of orange, partly hyaline spots; cilia orange. 

Underside: Underside forewing more or less like upper side, paler. Underside hindwing brown, darker in tornal area, with well-developed discal and submarginal spots; veins outlined in yellow or orange.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
No secondary sexual characters.

About 15 species, extending from NE. India to the Philippines, Borneo and Java.
