MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 16-19.

General morphology:
Antennae longer than half of length of forewing, apiculus obtuse to moderately hooked, nudum 17-18 segments. Forewing elongate triangular, termen weakly curved below apical part, hind margin longer than termen. Hindwing termen well-rounded, inner margin slightly shorter than costa.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing dark brown with a few white hyaline spots including two well separated spots in cell; orange or yellow dash over basal half of vein 1A+2A. Upper side hindwing dark brown with some orange or yellow streak-like markings; veins outlined in black. 

Underside: Underside forewing much like upper side, in addition, there may be well-developed submarginal spots. Underside hindwing black or brown with numerous white or yellowish spots.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
No secondary sexual characters.

Six species, extending from NE. India to the Philippines, Sulawesi and Java.
