MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 20.

General morphology:
Antennae nearly half of length of forewing, apiculus constricted at commencement, right-angled, nudum 12 segments, half of which on the club. Forewing triangular, costa almost straight, termen evenly curved, hind margin as long as termen. Hindwing termen rounded, inner margin as long as or slightly longer than costa, tornus slightly produced.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing dark brown with four small, white, hyaline discal spots discal spots. Upper side hindwing dark brown, tornal third pure white. 

Underside: Underside forewing as upper side. Underside hindwing pure white, costal area dark brown and some brown marginal spots between the veins.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
In one species the male has a tuft of upturned hairs on the underside of the hindwing from near the base of the hind margin .
