MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 10-14.

General morphology:
Antennae club more or less flattened, blunt-ended, apiculus absent or short, obtuse, nudum (8-10) segments most or entirely on the club. Forewing hind margin slightly longer than evenly curved termen. Hindwing evenly rounded, inner margin longer than costa.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing in male brown with large yellow areas, particularly in cell, in female the yellow is paler and much more restricted. Upper side hindwing brown with large yellow discal area. 

Underside: Underside forewing and hindwing as upper side, but the hindwing is heaviky dusted with yellow scaling and there are additional orange-yellow spots and streaks.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
Male with narrow dark brand on upper side of forewing.  

Species

 
Six species, occurring from India and China, extending through Vietnam and Malaysia to Sumatra, Borneo and Java. Only one species in the area covered here.
