External characteristics
Forewing length (mm): 45605.
General morphology:
Antennae as longs as half costa of forewing, or shorter, club bent in middle or beyond thickest part to a pointed apiculus, or club not bent and apiculus blunt; nudum 8-10 segments. Forewing triangular with slightly curved termen, hind margin about as long as termen. Hindwing evenly rounded, inner margin about as long as costa.
Wing coloration:
Upper side: Upper side forewing unmarked dark brown or with very faint spots, but in one species pale plumbeous blue extending to the brown apex in the male, but confined to the base in the female. Upper side hindwing dark brown, but in one species pale plumbeous blue extending to a dark border.
Underside: Underside forewing as upper side. Underside hindwing with olive scaling and faint spots or grey brown with whitish spots.
Secondary sexual characters:
Male with or without discal stigma on upper side of forewing.
Species
Eleven species, extending from northern India to E. Siberia (Amur region) and Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines and Java. Four species in the area covered here.
