MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics
Forewing length (mm): 15-23.
General morphology:
Antennae shorter than half of length of forewing, apiculus right-angled, constricted at its commencement, tip upturned, nudum 14 segments, of which seven on the club. Forewing triangular to elongate-triangular, costa almost straight, termen slightly curved, hind margin as long as or longer than termen. Hindwing termen slightly curved to almost straight, tornus slightly produced, inner margin as long as or slightly longer than costa.
Wing coloration:
Upper side: Upper side forewing brown, white hyaline discal spots complete to much reduced, generally double spot in cell. Upper side hindwing dark brown without spots or at most a few indistinct ones.
Underside: Underside as upper side, outer half of forewing and whole of hindwing may be overlaid by paler scales giving the wing a warmer appearance,
Secondary sexual characters:
Male on the upper side of the forewing generally with a discal stigma.
