MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 12-14.

General morphology:
Antennae longer than half of length of forewing, club with apiculus hooked, nudum 12 segments. Forewing rounded-triangular, costa almost straight, termen evenly curved, hind margin longer than termen. Hindwing termen rounded, inner margin slightly longer than costa.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing dark brown with band of conjoined yellow/orange discal spots, with which the cell spot has merged. Upper side hindwing dark brown with band of conjoined yellow/orange discal spots, no cell spot. 

Underside: Underside similar to upper side, but strong yellow/orange super-scaling, particularly so on the hindwing.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
No secondary sexual characters.  

Species

 
Eight species, extending India to Hainan, the Philippines Sulawesi, the Lesser Sunda Islands and, quite separate, in Fiji and Samoa.
