MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 22-38.

General morphology:
Antennae not longer than half of length of forewing, apiculus hooked, nudum 16 segments. Forewing elongate-triangular, costa and termen very slightly curved, hind margin slightly longer than termen; cell at least as long as hind margin; vein M2 decurved at origin. Hindwing termen evenly rounded but slightly produced at tornus, inner margin as long as costa; cell as long as half wing.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing dark brown, paler towards apex, with some white or pale-yellow hyaline discal spots as well as in cell, non-hyaline spot over outer half of vein 1A+2A. Upper side hindwing plain dark brown. 

Underside: Underside similar to upper side, sometimes with a reddish tinge, and there may be a few dark dots.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
Male without secondary sexual characters.

Three species, extending from NE. India to the Sulu Archipelago.
