MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 22-27.

General morphology:
Antennae with long club and long recurved acute apex. Forewing triangular (with relatively straight termen). Hindwing tornus slightly extended, termen slightly indented above tornus.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing unmarked brown or with well-marked white spots in spaces (maximally) cua1, cua2, m3, cell and at apex. Upper side hindwing plain brown, may be paler, up to yellow in basal half or dark brown with a broad yellow band. 

Underside: Underside forewing as upper side, more or less bluish if underside hindwing is bluish. Underside hindwing as upper side, or with a white band, or with spot in cell, or with bluish sheen, or with bluish sheen in basal two-thirds enclosed by narrow white band.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
with or without a broken discal stigma.  

Species

 
At least 30 species, together extending from India to S. China, Japan, the Philippines and eastward through the whole of Indonesia to Australia, the Solomon Islands and Fiji.
