External characteristics

Male 
Wingspan (mm): 58 - 65 (DBpedia, n.d.).
 

Female  
The females generally have a different underside wing surface than the males, by being darker with broader margins on both wings (D'Abrera, 1982).  

Subspecies and variation

 
Four subspecies are described, of which three subspecies are found in Papua (Pequin, 2021).

Similar species

This species is similar to Delias catisa, but it can be distinguished by the greater amount of yellow colouration on the forewing underside (Pequin, 2021).
