MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 17-23.

General morphology:
Antennae longer than half of length of forewing, apiculus variable, nudum 16-18 segments. Forewing elongate-triangular, costa and termen almost straight, hind margin slightly longer than termen. Hindwing termen evenly rounded, slightly produced at tornus, inner margin slightly shorter than costa.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing dark brown with varying number of hyaline spots, with or without one or two spots in cell. Upper side hindwing dark brown with a wide central band from costa to inner margin or shorter. 

Underside: Underside similar to upper side, but on hindwing the wide white band always from costa to inner margin.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
In one species, male with a large area of black modified scales below the cell to vein 1A+2A.
