External characteristics
Forewing length (mm): 16-21.
General morphology:
Antennae well over half length of costa of forewing, nudum with at most 16 segments. Forewing broad, termen evenly rounded, slightly crenulate. Hindwing broad, evenly rounded, inner margin as long as costa, termen slightly crenulate.
Wing coloration:
Upper side: Upper side forewing dark brown with white hyaline spots (median spots, apical spots, in cell and a tiny spot halfway at costa. Upper side hindwing plain dark brown or with central series of unsharp paler markings.
Underside: Underside forewing as upper side. Underside hindwing as upper side, nut greyish in basal area and with a vague to prominent series of white spots from inner margin to costa.
Secondary sexual characters:
Male hind tibiae furnished with recumbent hair pencil, female with anal tuft in one species.
Species
Seven species, extending from E. Siberia (Amur region), Korea and China to Japan, the Philippines and Java (but not Sumatra and Borneo). Only two species in the area covered here.
