MORPHOLOGY


External characteristics


Male 
Forewing length (mm): 40 (Joicey and Noakes, 1915).
Forewings: The forewing upper side is greenish white coloured and the margin is black coloured. The forewing underside has a narrow black coloured costal margin and two thin short streaks in the apex(Joicey and Noakes, 1915).  Hindwings The hindwing upper side is greenish white coloured and the marginal border is black coloured. There are white coloured streaks at the proximal edge. The hindwing underside is brownish black coloured with a submarginal row of rounded white spots(Joicey and Noakes, 1915).

Female 
Forewing length (mm):
 42 (Joicey and Noakes, 1915).  
The upper side wing surface has a brownish black ground-colour with white markings. The hindwing has a white coloured cell, except at the lower edge, there is some dark scaling. The underside wing surface has all white markings increased in females (Joicey and Noakes, 1915).
