External characteristics
Male
Forewings: The upper side wing surface is white coloured and has at the base widely scattered black scales. The dark portion is remarkably extensive and obscurely bordered. The orange marking on the wing is reduces with scattered dark scales. The underside has no marking (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
