External characteristics
Male
Forewings: The upper side wing surface has a lemon yellow ground-colour, which lacks the greenish tinge. The forewing underside has a subapical spot (Yata and Morishita, 1979). Hindwings The hindwing upper side has a black border, with is almost uniform in width (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
Female
The female has a dark square subapical spot on the forewing underside. The ground-colour is a milky white (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
Subspecies and variation
Two subspecies are described (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
