MORPHOLOGY


External characteristics


Male 

Forewings: The forewing upper side has a black distal area. The underside wing surface has a bronze ground-colour. The inner margin of the forewing underside has a white coloured margin and proximal area, and there are five small subapical spots (Pequin, 2021). Hindwings The hindwing upper side has a black marginal border anteriorly, which is edged by a black dusting. The hindwing underside has a small yellow basal costal spot, which is edged broadly with white distally. Further, there is a row of six small, black, submarginal spots, not placed near the margin. There is a small black distal patch and some black dusitng over the inner marginal area. The fringe on the wing is broken by white between the veins (Pequin, 2021).

Female  
Female is similar to the male (Pequin, 2021).  

Subspecies and variation

 
No subspecies (Pequin, 2021).

Similar species

This species can be distinguished from the other species in the group cuningputi by the submarginal row of small black spots on the hindwing underside. The upper side wing surface is similar to that of Delias heroni (Pequin, 2021).
