MORPHOLOGY


External characteristics


Male 
Wingspan (mm): 60-70 (Bingham, 1907).
Antennae black with white speckles; head and thorax with greenish hairs ; abdomen greenish white, to white on the underside. (Bingham, 1907)Forewings: The forewing costa is stained by green-ish yellow scales. The underside wing surface is a dull green-ish yellow colour, with obscure, broad darkened veins (Yata and Morishita, 1979). Hindwings The hindwing has a black terminal margin anteriorly on the upper side. The anterior veins are black on the terminal portions.The underside is greenish yellow, with only some white peeking through in the elongate spots in the anterior interspaces. (Bingham, 1907)

Female  Wingspan (mm):60-70 (Bingham, 1907).
The female is darker than the male and has a clear black dot on the forewing (Yata and Morishita, 1979).  

Subspecies and variation

 
No subspecies (Yata and Morishita, 1979).

Similar species

This species is similar to Cepora nerissa, but is much larger (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
