External characteristics
Male
Forewings: The forewing upper side has the black coloured submarginal band conspicuously contrinued from the costa to the inner margin (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
Female
The hindwing upper side has conspicuous black coloured submarginal spots. The hindwing underside has a white submarginal band (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
Subspecies and variation
No subspecies (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
