External characteristics
Male
Forewings: The ground-colour is white of the wings and there are no markings on both sides, except for the marginal border (Yata and Morishita, 1979). Hindwings The hindwing has a concaved black marginal border (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
Female
The hindwing upper side is much more yellow in females. The costa and dorsum of the hindwing underside are usually yellowish (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
Subspecies and variation
Three subspecies are described. The subspecies have a variable width of the black border (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
