MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 22-33.

General morphology:
Antennae as long as half of length of forewing, apiculus hooked, nudum 16-223 segments. Forewing elongate-triangular, costa slightly curved, termen almost straight, hind margin longer than termen; cell at least as long as hind margin; vein M2 straight. Hindwing termen well-rounded, but slightly protruding at tornus, inner margin about as long as costa.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing dark brown (male) to brown (female) with centrally three white hyaline spots, with or without apical spots. Upper side hindwing plain brown to dark brown, in one species female with hindwing white with wide brown border along costa and termen. 

Underside: Underside forewing as upper side but in apical area there may be some extra whitish scaling. Underside hindwing in one species with a conspicuous wide white band broadly bordered by brown along termen, inner margin and at base; in the other species with whitish super-scaling along termen, in distal area and near base, veins dark brown outlined (male) or largely white, but brown along costa and in tornal third.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
Underside forewing as upper side but in apical area there may be some extra whitish scaling. Underside hindwing in one species with a conspicuous wide white band broadly bordered by brown along termen, inner margin and at base; in the other species with whitish super-scaling along termen, in distal area and near base, veins dark brown outlined (male) or largely white, but brown along costa and in tornal third.
