External characteristics

Male
Forewing length (mm): 50-55. Wingspan (mm): 71-80.
Forewings: Upperside brown, paler towards hind margin, series of median spots from vein 2 to vein 7 or 8, no other spots; underside similar, but ground color rather paler, may have a violet flush Hindwings Crenulate, tail at end of vein 4; upperside pale grayish ochreous, darkening towards outer margin, indistinct median spots spots; underside ground color as underside forewing, indistinct median spots, those in spaces 1b and 2 may be capped by orange.

Female
Similar to male.

Subspecies and variation

Little variation known, no subspecies have been distinguished.
