External characteristics


Male 

The body is silver-grey on the upper side and dark grey coloured on the underside (Butler, 1865).Forewings: The forewing upper side has the basal half white coloured and the apical half, inner part of the anterior margin and the base grey coloured. The front margin and outer margin are rich brown coloured. The forewing underside is white coloured, with the base and the apex yellow coloured and the anterior margin grey coloured. The margins are rich brown coloured . There is a brown coloured spot in the centre between the first and second discocellular and another one between the first and second median nervules (Butler, 1865). Hindwings The hindwing upper side is white coloured with the anal half of the outer margin grey coloured and the aical half rich brown coloured. The hindwing underside is bright yellow coloured, with grey colouration on the outer margin. All nerves are bordered with a rich brown colour, except for the end of the cell (Butler, 1865).
