OCCURENCE

Habitat: Forest - Subtropical/Tropical Moist Montane
One specimen of this species was found in Kerinci Seblat National Park (Dahelmi et al. 2009), a 1.3 million hectare protected area. The host plant(s) for this species are unknown, and there is very little further data about its habitat and ecology.

Population: This species is thought to be uncommon and the females in particular are very rare in collections (Collins and Morris 1985, D. Peggie pers. comm. 2019). Dahelmi et al. (2009) found one specimen in one of nine National Parks surveyed on the island of Sumatra.
Range: This species is endemic to the Indonesian island of Sumatra where it is reportedly found on the northern part of the island (Collins and Morris 1985), however, it has more recently been reported in Kerinci Seblat National Park (Dahelmi et al. 2009), which is found in the more southern province of Jambi. This species is thought to occur only at altitudes of over 1,000 m (Dahelmi et al. 2009). The extent of occurrence is estimated at 218,800 km². Its area of occupancy is unknown.
