OCCURENCE

Habitat: Forest - Subtropical/Tropical Moist Lowland
The species inhabits primary and tall secondary forest. It is most frequently seen at flowers or flying along creeks. Males may imbibe moisture from creek banks, where they sometimes congregate with other species from its genus.

Population: This is a fairly common species.
Range: This butterfly is distributed within the Sulawesi region and northern Maluku, Indonesia. It may also occur on Biak (see 'Taxonomic Notes'). The extent of occurrence is certainly greater than 20,000 km2. The area of occupancy cannot be accurately estimated for this fairly common species of both primary and tall secondary forest but is likely to be well in excess of 2,000 km2.
