MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 12-18.

General morphology:
Antennae club bent at or shortly after its commencement to form a finely pointed apiculus, nudum 13-24 segments. Palpi porrect. Forewing triangular with gently curved or practically straight termen, hind margin longer than termen. Hindwing evenly rounded, inner margin about as long as costa.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing and hindwing brown. 

Underside: Underside forewing as upper side but with a smaller or larger pale area along hind margin. Underside hindwing as upper side but with vague paler markings.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
Male with linear stigma on upper side of forewing.  

Species

 
Ten species, mainly Australia but two species confined to New Guinea and nearby islands.
