MORPHOLOGY


External characteristics


Male 
Forewing length (mm): 39 - 44 (Jonko, 2021). Wingspan (mm): 45 (Kirby and Bowdler Sharpe, 1897).
Forewings: The upper side wing surface is white. The forewing has a marginal black band, with white spots, running from the apex to below the middle of the hind-margin. There is a black spot, divided by a white line, which runs from the costa to beyond the end of the cell. The forewing underside are also white and have green dark markings (Kirby and Bowdler Sharpe, 1897).  Hindwings The hindwing lacks spots. The hindwing underside is green coloured, dusted with black, has a row of large white spots on the hind-margin and a irregular white coloured band (Kirby and Bowdler Sharpe, 1897).

The markings on the hindwing are heavily bordered with black, with a row of white spots in females (Kirby and Bowdler Sharpe, 1897).
