MORPHOLOGY


External characteristics


Male 
Forewing length (mm): 49 - 62 (Jonko, 2021). Wingspan (mm): 65 (Feltwell, 1993), 63 - 68 (Kirby and Bowdler Sharpe, 1897).
The body and antennae are white on the underside and black on the upper side (Kirby & Bowdler Sharpe, 1897).Forewings: The upper side wing surface is white, with a black coloured triangular patch at the tip of the forewing and the fringes are yellowish. The underside wing surface is yellow (Kirby and Bowdler Sharpe, 1897). Hindwings The hindwing has a large stop on the costa towards the tip. The hindwing underside is sprinkled with black scales (Kirby and Bowdler Sharpe, 1897).

Female 
Forewing length (mm):
 51 - 63 (Jonko, 2021).  Wingspan (mm):65 (Feltwell, 1993), 63 - 68 (Kirby and Bowdler Sharpe, 1897).
The forewing has more spots in the female and she is larger than the male (Feltwell, 1993).
