External characteristics
Forewing length (mm): 19-22.
General morphology:
Antennae longer than half of length of forewing, apiculus not longer than twice width of club, nudum 13-15 segments. Eyes black or brownish red. Forewing triangular, termen straight or almost so below apical area, hind margin shorter or longer than termen. Hindwing termen well-rounded, but termen may be a bit produced at tornus; inner margin about as long as costa; cell shorter than half wing.
Wing coloration:
Upper side: Upper side forewing black or brown with centrally white hyaline spots with or without a double spot in cell; there may be an indistinct white dash over the middle of vein 1A+2A. Upper side hindwing black or brown, unmarked but in one species white at apex and extending some way along costa.
Underside: Underside of forewing black, in one species the hyaline spots accompanied by additional white so that the is a hooked band from mid inner margin to mid costa. In the other species the hyaline spots are accompanied by a yellow spot to the middle of the costa and a whitish tornal area. Underside of hindwing as upper side or with a narrow white or yellowish band from mid costa to close to the base of the inner margin.
Secondary sexual characters:
No secondary sexual characters.
Species
Three species, extending from NE. India to S. China, Hainan, and through continental SE. Asia to, continental SE. Asia and through Malaysia eastward to Borneo and Java. Two species in area covered here.
