External characteristics

Male 

Forewings: The discal spots are dull orange coloured (Yata and Morishita, 1979). 

Female  
The ground-colour and the discal spots are white coloured (Yata and Morishita, 1979).  

Subspecies and variation

 
Two subspecies are described (Yata and Morishita, 1979).

Similar species

This species is similar to the Andaman subspecies of Ixias pyrene, but is smaller (Yata and Morishita, 1979).
