MORPHOLOGY

External characteristics

Forewing length (mm): 15-20.

General morphology:
Antennae longer than half of length of forewing, apiculus obtuse to moderately hooked, nudum 13-15 segments. Forewing triangular, termen almost straight (in lower three-quarters) or slightly curved (particularly in females), hind margin as long as termen. Hindwing termen weakly to nicely curved, inner margin as long as costa.

Wing coloration:

Upper side: Upper side forewing brown to blackish brown, all species with a complete or incomplete series of white, hyaline discal spots and usually also a double cell spot. Upper side hindwing brown to blackish with or without a few small white hyaline discal spots. 

Underside: Underside of all wings generally as upper side but a bit paler.

Secondary sexual characters:

 
Male on upper side forewing with d discal stigma and a brand over the base of vein 1A+2A.

About 17 species, extending from Thailand and Myanmar to the Philippines (Palawan only), Borneo and Java.
