External characteristics
Male
Forewing length (mm): 22 (Joicey and Noakes, 1915).
Forewings: The forewing has an irregular black coloured margin on the edge. The forewing underside apex is washed with yellowish white colouration. The black band shows through the underside (Joicey and Noakes, 1915).
Female
Forewing length (mm): 25 (Joicey and Noakes, 1915).
The female is similar to the male. The hindwing underside is yellowish coloured (Joicey and Noakes, 1915).
